My work focuses on Puerto Rican epistemology by centering on our connection to land. In Land Reflections, soil was placed on a mirror, with pieces of a photograph that are placed firmly and deeply in the soil. In the soil, the roots of Yerba Buena grow into the foundation. Inspired by the quote, "when there are no more Boris (Puerto Rican people) around these parts, maybe it is time to fertilize the soil with our own body," Land Relflectons, reflects on the displacement of people and land through disaster capitalism, global warming, and forced migration.
